After a long hiatus, we are pleased to announce the return of Gotham City Radio. Great music. Top notch international guest djs. Up and coming local talent. Hosted by NYC/Barcelona transplant and owner of Gotham City Recordings, DJ Becka.
We will be airing on a new date and time, with two hours of quality grooves to make your work day more enjoyable. Starting November 5th, you can catch us on the first and third Wednesday of every month from noon until 2pm-CET, (for our fans in the US, 6am-EST) on Livesets.com. Then catch us again later in the day on Digitally Imported Radio's Techno Channel at 8pm-CET, (for our fans in the US, 2pm-EST).
Kicking things off, we will be airing a special session recorded by Para Disco label owner, ARA. Many of you may be familiar already with ARA, having seen releases from him under his former production alias, Agent Orange. In addition, we will also be presenting our new project – ARA vs Becka live. This special live show debuted over the summer at Ibiza's most talked about party – The Zoo Project. We are happy to bring it to our listeners here at Gotham City Radio.
Ara is considered amongst the cream of international electronic music artists. His many world wide tour dates include massive festivals like the ULTRA Music Festival in Miami to being a regular at Christian Smith’s Tronic Treatment parties in NYC (his hometown), Miami and Detroit, to gigs at respected clubs and parties world wide such as Pacha and Gatecrasher, to several gigs in Ibiza and just about every continent in the world. His contributions to the global music scene include releases and remixes on globally respected labels like Terminal M, Circle Music, Advanced and Liftin’. His tracks, as well as others from his own label Gotham Grooves, gets played, charted, and appears on CDs by DJ’s Carl Cox , Richie Hawtin, DJ Hell, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Eric Sneo , Max Graham, Alex Flatner, DJ Mayuri, DJ Lucca, and others.
He Previous artist names include Agent Orange with an upbeat, funky, Techno sound, and as ARA with an Electro-House and pumping Minimal sound. He’s been dedicated to producing his own music as well as managing Gotham Grooves since 2000. With Gotham, he went full force to push Techno in the US and created the opportunity to sign hot US talent along side international all-stars like, Valentino Kanzyani, Bryan Zentz, Danilo Vigorito and Tim Xavier along with his own releases. He also ran the "Tech-Support" nights, one of NYC’s most respected weekly techno events, where he showcased many local talents alongside cream of the crop international artists including Adam Beyer, Space DJz, W.J. Henze (aka Gecko), Oliver Ho, Deetron, Christian Smith, Ben Sims and more.
In the summer of 2006 he moved his studio to Barcelona where he continues his projects and performs DJ gigs around the city and the rest of Europe more than ever.
